BROOKLYN, NY – Sennheiser, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of headphones, microphones and wireless transmission systems, today revealed programming for its “Future of Audio” suite at On Air Fest, to be held this March at Brooklyn’s Wythe Hotel. The Sennheiser “Future of Audio” suite will feature a robust lineup of creative masterclasses, discussions, and demonstrations, all designed to inspire the next generation of content creators to embrace 3D audio technology. - David Bowie is - A special conversation with Matthew Yokobosky, Director of Exhibition Design, Brooklyn Museum about the critically acclaimed exhibition, David Bowie is. Offering unprecedented access to the icon’s personal archive, the exhibition explores the creative process of an artist whose sustained reinventions, innovative collaborations, and bold characterizations revolutionized the way we see music, inspiring people to shape their own identities while challenging social traditions. David Bowie is has been touring globally for the past five years and will be on view at the Brooklyn Museum, March 2 to July 15, 2018. In this session, Yakobosky shares his perspective on organizing this incarnation of the exhibition, including the ways in which sound design—powered by the show's official audio partner Sennheiser—heightens the museum-going experience
- “Telling your Story with Sound” – a creative master class addressing the ways in which sound can be used to set a scene, illustrate a concept or enliven a journalistic endeavor. Grammy Award-winning recording engineer and producer of acoustic music Jim Anderson of Anderson Audio New York leads this session, engaging the audience on an international aural journey from the ‘hollars’ of Kentucky to the streets of Grenada
- “Sound Tonality” – a master class run by author and sound recording expert Alex Case focuses on the creative and technical components of microphones. Case explores the process of selecting a the best microphone to enhance tone, pitch, vocal range, and effects of the final audio output
- “Binaural Sound and the Future of Experiential Audio “ - Sennheiser's own, Ricky Miranda will spearhead a discussion on binaural audio and its various applications and use functions. Sennheiser leads the industry in both consumer and professional applications of binaural recording. This talk covers the history of the medium, Sennheisers core 3D audio technology- AMBEO- and its current (and future) utilization to create immersive audio experiences. - “Active Listening”– a creative talk about how one can actively listen and consume a story rather than tell one. This delves into how one can be a “better listener” as well as the mediums which individuals utilize for listening
