“2018 has been another big year for Sennheiser wireless systems,” says Simon Holley, Sennheiser Sales Director – Pro Audio Solutions – UK & Ireland. “Digital 6000 continues to exceed expectations in the touring and rental markets, new SpeechLine Digital Wireless models have been introduced and are currently the focal point of a huge education campaign and our dealers want to showcase the new evolution wireless G4 range. That, in itself, speaks volumes about how well the product has been received in the market since launching earlier this year.”

This is why the company is partnering with top UK dealers AC Entertainment (Stand E30), Autograph (Stand H10), Leisuretec (Stand G38), SFL (Stand U70) and SSE Audio (Stand J20), as well as hosting education focussed training sessions at this year’s PLASA Show.

Product highlights will include the new evolution wireless G4 range, Digital 6000, LSP 500 wireless loudspeakers and the new Memory Mic, which launches at IBC 2018.

evolution wireless G4

With a sleek new user interface, a generously expanded switching bandwidth and higher RF output power for the 300 and 500 series, new multi-channel functionality for the 100 series and brand-new on-camera systems, evolution wireless G4 delivers high-quality, reliable audio for musical performances, houses of worship, theatres, business and education settings as well as camera work.

evolution wireless G3 users will recognize the familiar 100, IEM, 300 and 500 sub-series – but there are some important additions: There are brand-new professional sets for ENG and film work in the 500 series, three new Base Sets in the 300 series, as well as upgraded Vocal Sets and a new Combo Set in the 100 series.

Digital 6000

Launched at the beginning of last year, Digital 6000, incorporates the acclaimed Long Range transmission mode and proprietary audio codec from Sennheiser’s top-of-the-range Digital 9000 series to deliver impeccable RF wireless and audio performance. At the same time, the system fulfils the business need of rental companies, theatres, broadcasters and houses of worship for a flexible two-channel wireless solution that allows the use of existing accessory infrastructures. Designed for demanding live productions, Digital 6000 also addresses the challenges of the shrinking UHF spectrum: the system eliminates intermodulation, enabling more channels to operate in less spectrum space and is finding favour with an ever-increasing roster of artists including, P!NK, Robbie Williams, Jamie Lawson and Kendrick Lamar, as well as starring in many theatre productions.

LSP 500

The LSP 500 PRO is a portable wireless two-way audio system for professional use. It has been designed to address audiences at indoor and outdoor events without the need of any power or audio cables. Up to three receivers for wireless microphones can be installed and music can be played wirelessly via a Bluetooth connection. Alternatively, the integrated media player can be used to play music from a USB storage device. For larger events, the sum signal of one LSP 500 PRO can be sent via a wireless transmitter to other LSP 500 PRO devices. The LSP 500 PRO is remote controllable via iPad App or Windows Remote Control Software, which serves as a mixing console and permits the control of up to 20 LSP 500 PRO simultaneously.

Memory Mic

Sennheiser’s latest wireless Memory Mic for smartphones is an absolute must-have for mobile journalists. The size and quantity of equipment that journalists and reporters require to create professional quality content has decreased considerably within just a few years. In many instances, the smartphone is now the tool of choice, offering a quick and simple way to capture documentary or commentary. The key drawback is the sound quality of the mobile phone’s built-in microphone – which more often than not, performs poorly and fails to satisfy professional broadcast requirements. Enter the innovative Memory Mic: The small, lightweight wireless microphone not only offers excellent, broadcast-quality sound but also works at any distance from the smartphone. The mic and the accompanying app for Android and Apple are available now.

SpeechLine Digital Wireless for AV Techs – hands-on training sessions

Sennheiser will also be holding a series of education focussed training sessions during the show, SpeechLine Digital Wireless for AV Techs, which will take place in PLASA’s Product Training Theatre on Olympia’s upper level on Tuesday Sep 18th. These hands-on workshops will be run by the Sennheiser Sound Academy training team and go under the hood of SpeechLine Digital Wireless microphone systems, showing participants how to specify, configure, operate and remote monitor multiple wireless systems.

SpeechLine Digital Wireless is Sennheiser's wireless microphone system standard that guarantees highest speech intelligibility and concise sound quality. It provides reliable and highly flexible solutions tailored to education and corporate applications. It is widely scalable and ideal for the everyday working and lecturing environment - from small room setups to huge campus-wide installations.
