Renowned Experts to Deliver Forward Looking Presentations on DECT NR+ and Possibilities for the Audio Industry in Munich

Wedermark, Germany– 3 November 2025 Sennheiser today announced that Dr. Andreas Wilzeck, Head of Spectrum Policy and Standards, and Vaughan John, Spectrum Policy and Standards Manager, will deliver visionary talks on the DECT NR+ standard and its radio spectrum opportunities at DECT World 2025, which is scheduled to occur November 12 and 13 in Munich, Germany.

On November12th, Vaughan John’s presentation “NR+ Radio Spectrum Opportunities” will address perspectives and opportunities of DECT NR+ to access frequency bands globally. John will provide a global perspective on NR+ radio spectrum opportunities, highlighting CEPT activities in the 3.8–4.2 GHz range. His presentation will explore the potential of spectrum sharing and underscore the importance of regulatory work shaping the DECT ecosystem worldwide.

That same day, Dr. Andreas Wilzeck will introduce the DECT Forum Academic Industry Roundtable (AIR), which fosters cooperation and collaboration of academic partners and industry in research and development. Dr. Wilzeck will focus on the synergy between academia and industry in advancing next-generation wireless technologies. Drawing on success stories, such as the Franco-German project MERCI, he will emphasize the value of collaboration and outline future initiatives aimed at accelerating ecosystem development and driving DECT NR+ research and technology forward.

During the morning of the second day of the event as part of the Pro Audio session, Dr. Wilzeck will present “The Path from Vision to Reality: DECT NR+ in Wireless Audio”. The presentation will discuss how DECT NR+ unlocks new capabilities for professional and installed audio and trace the evolution from early 3GPP technology studies to advanced bi-directional Wireless Multichannel Audio Systems (WMAS, EN 300 422-based) and DECT NR+ innovations. Dr. Wilzeck will showcase key outcomes from collaborative R&D projects that have defined the path toward high-performance, standards-based wireless audio.

Dr. Wilzeck will also offer insight into the ongoing work of ETSI TC DECT and cover developments in generic audio profiles, interoperability, optimized scheduled access, network cooperation, and spectrum management. Looking ahead, Dr. Wilzeck will also present how DECT NR+, as a user-deployable IMT-2020 (5G) technology, integrates into the networked audio world through initiatives like OpenStack-based infrastructures and the DECT Forum AIR project—enabling scalable, secure, and interoperable wireless audio solutions.

“Audio teams need wireless delivery solutions that are predictable, secure, and easy to deploy at scale,” said Dr. Wilzeck. “DECT NR+ brings a modern, standards-based foundation that builds on DECT’s strengths while unlocking new opportunities for low-latency streaming, dense deployments, and end-to-end audio networks.”

Sennheiser's Dr. Andreas Wilzeck, Head of Spectrum Policy and Standards, and Vaughan John, Spectrum Policy and Standards Manager, will deliver visionary talks on the DECT NR+ standard and its radio spectrum opportunities at DECT World 2025

Attendees will come away with a clear view of where DECT NR+ fits in the audio ecosystem today and how it can accelerate product innovation tomorrow, including opportunities in conferencing, education, intercoms, audio-for-video, and live production.
