1. Preface

This Data Privacy Declaration applies to the online newsroom of Sennheiser electronic SE & Co. KG (hereinafter referred to as “Sennheiser”). Other Data Privacy Declarations may be applicable to other servers and websites from third-party providers.

Sennheiser takes the protection of personal data very seriously. Because of this, we want to inform the users of our website which data is saved and how this data is used. Data protection regulations require that we handle user data in a proper manner and for the specific purpose it was collected. We will not use such data for any purpose beside the purpose indicated.

4. Handling of personal data

Personal data includes all information that relates to an identified or identifiable natural person. A natural person is considered identifiable if they can be identified directly or indirectly, in particular by or through associating them with an identifier such as a name, an ID number, location data, an online ID or one or more unique features.

 

5. Use of Prezly to manage personal data

5.1 Description of data processing

We offer you, as a journalist, the opportunity to receive information and press releases on current topics from the Pro Audio and Business Products area, as well as regarding the Sennheiser company if you register to receive such information, or if you notify us or our agents of your interest in such information. As a result, we will process the following personal data provided by you:

  • Master data (such as first name, last name)
  • Contact information (such as company phone number, business e-mail address)
  • Social media accounts
  • Job title
  • Employer
  • Products of interest

5.2 Legal basis of data processing

The legal basis for data processing is the consent you have provided to us or our commissioned agents to send you press releases, in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR.

5.3 Purpose of processing

Personal data will only be processed for the purposes specified in the consent, namely to send information and press releases via e-mail.

5.4 Duration of data storage

You have the right to revoke your consent with future effect (for instance in text or written form via e-mail to press@sennheiser.com or by letter to the address listed under “2. Controller.” The revocation shall not affect data processing carried out before this time. After we receive your revocation of consent, we will promptly stop data processing to the extent it falls under the revocation.

5.5 Transmission to third parties

We use the platform “Prezly” from the operating company Prezly BV to manage your personal data. Prezly processes this data on our behalf. We have concluded a contract processing agreement with Prezly in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR. Prezly is used to create and update communication contacts and use them for the PR purposes described.

In addition, your personal data may be transmitted to our group companies, country partners, and agencies worldwide and processed by them. Data processing is carried out on the basis of contract processing agreements concluded by us according to Art. 28 GDPR.

 

6. Use of the online newsroom

6.1 Description of data processing

Our online newsroom is operated using the service “Prezly.” Prezly is used to create and update communication contacts and use them for PR purposes.

We, Sennheiser electronic SE & Co. KG, are generally considered the controllers responsible for the processing of personal data. The company responsible for operating the online newsroom is Prezly BV, which collects and processes your personal data as a user of the online newsroom on our behalf as a contract processor. Prezly processes both personal and non-personal data of users of the online newsroom on our behalf. The personal data which Prezly processes on you as a user of the online newsroom includes data such as your name, address, age, telephone number, email address, type of activities, accounts on social media and the organizations with which you are associated and which has been provided to us. Prezly does not process any personal data which you have not provided to us, or for which you have not expressly consented to processing. In particular, Prezly does not process non-personal data on you from online newsrooms you visit, including the following types of data: general information found in every communication sent over the internet, information such as browser type (e.g. Chrome or Internet Explorer), operating system (e.g. Macintosh or Windows), browser language (e.g. Java or Unix), internet service provider (e.g. Verizon Fios or AOL) and how you use the online newsroom and the different pages on the internet. Prezly can use this personal and non-personal data to provide its contractually agreed-upon services for us.

As indicated above, Prezly does use cookies and tracking technologies. Cookies are identifiers transmitted to the hard drive of a computer via a web browser so that the systems can recognize the user's browser and inform Prezly how and when pages in the online newsroom were visited, and by how many persons. Just like most websites, Prezly uses cookies to improve your online experience.

When you interact with Prezly, Prezly receives and stores certain kinds of information. Prezly automatically receives and stores so-called traffic data in the server protocols in your browser, including your IP address, cookie information, and the pages you request. Prezly uses this traffic data to analyze trends and manage the online newsroom website. Usage data is collected automatically, such as the number and frequency of users on the website.

In addition, Prezly also uses web beacons. When we send you an e-mail to send press releases, Prezly can track related behavior, such as who opened the e-mails and who clicked the links. This type of data allows Prezly to find out how often users use different parts of the online newsroom. In addition, Prezly provides us with statistical, collective user data that does not provide any information on you personally. We use this data to identify how often certain components of the online newsroom are used.

6.2 Legal basis of data processing

The legal basis of processing is your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR.

6.3 Purpose of data processing

The personal data is used only to analyze visitor flows of visitors to the website of the online newsroom. Prezly uses the data and information collected partially to analyze use of the website, in order to prepare online reports illustrating activity on the sites for Sennheiser SE & Co. KG, and to provide other services associated with use of the website.

6.4 Duration of data storage

Your personal data will be deleted once the purpose for which it was processed has been achieved. There may be deviating retention periods due to legal specifications.

The legal basis of processing is our legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in properly processing the contact inquiry.

7.3 Purpose of data processing

Personal data is processed only for the purpose of handling and answering contact inquiries.

7.4 Duration of data storage

Your personal data will be deleted once the purpose for which it was processed has been fulfilled. There may be deviating retention periods due to legal specifications.

 

8. Automated decision-making; profiling

We do not carry out automated decision-making or profiling.

 

9. Rights of data subjects and right to submit complaints to a supervisory authority

As a data subject, you have the following rights with respect to Sennheiser, as the controller:

  • Right to information – the right to learn which data is processed and in what manner
  • Right to rectification – the right to request that incorrect or outdated personal data be corrected
  • Right to deletion – the right to have per deleted
  • Right to restrict processing – the right to restrict data processing
  • Right to data portability – the right to transfer personal data directly from one system to another (in a machine-readable format)
  • Right to object – the right to revoke consent granted in the past or object to the processing of personal data

10. Amendments
